inkandscales: puhpuhtooie: mechanical casualty.  Hell has nothing on this. He doesn’t know if there is a hell for them. But he’s ready for it. Hell will have nothing on the twisted fire sparks of ripped wires, the shock of electronics bared to the rough grit of the ground, the chill of mud seeping across circuit boards. Nothing will be worse than choking as oil lines rupture and hydraulic fluid drains. Than feeling the steam that powers him vent out into the sticky night air, leaving him cold and empty. Nothing will hurt more than seeing his brothers shot down and dragged off. Than hearing The Jon scream for help and listening to Rabbit fight. Than seeing the copper of Rabbit’s face with all those lovely details that Pappy poured himself into being smashed in. Than watching tears pour over The Jon’s eyes.  Hell will not be worse than failing his family. He is ready for hell. The cold blue light of his power core flickers out.
